We were using blue glass bottles to store your products. And we thought we were doing pretty good! That is until we got a hold of this bottle that is not only made of glass but contains a rare violet finish that blocks almost all light. This is awesome because oils are damaged very easily with light exposure. The problem with other glass colors, blue for example, is that they allow enough visible light to pass through to damage the product. That just did not sit well with us especially since our products are free of any parabens, synthetic preservatives, mineral oils, artificial fragrances or coloring’s.

Our packaging distinguishes itself by its high quality and offers your products optimal protection against the harmful effects of light. Furthermore, our glass products increases the shelf life of your products and prolongs their potency.

Our aim is to offer clients products with exceptional quality. The violet glass offers a unique possibility to maintain the value of the products at the same high level over a long time period. The violet glass blocks the complete spectrum of visible light with the exception of the violet part.

At the same time it allows a certain part to be permeable for UVA radiation and infra-red light. This unique combination offers optimal protection against the aging processes that are released by visible light, therefore lengthening the potency of products.

Glass Bottle Test

Sprayed white, green and brown glass bottles are permeable in the visible light spectrum and do not offer enough protection against decomposition caused by light. As an experiment, several herbs and spices were stored for 3 months in several types of glass (white, brown, violet), and were either exposed to the sun for several hours a day or kept inside.

After 2 months, the visible quality change was recorded with photographs, and the difference in smell determined in a blind test with volunteers. The illustration shows clearly that the chive samples that were exposed to the sun have bleached in brown and white glass. As photographed in this illustration, the sample stored in our violet glass shows no color change. The smell of the chives stored in our violet glass was also clearly stronger and fresher.
